K.Gordon Murray was the infamous distributor of more than 60 feature films within twenty years. Yet, it turns out that his own story is shrouded in both mystery and conjecture particularly since his untimely death almost thirty years ago. Director, Daniel Griffith however, now invites you on a journey across several decades of the history about "exploitation films".
NOTE: At one time the Ballyhoo Motion Pictures Promo Store on EBay sold versions of the documentary

An aside: Just like the founder of Ballyhoo Motion Picture, I enjoy ferreting out obscure releases film and tv releases. I just bought They Came from the Swamp about the director William Grefé on the Ballyhoo website. I was a little worried about the running time of just over 2 hours. But director Daniel Griffith has created an incredibly entertaining film that does what every great documentary should do and that is make it even more interested in the subject. The docuentary made me want to look up some of William Grefé movies such as Live and Let Die (1973), Mako: The Jaws of Death (1976) and The Naked Zoo.
I collect a lot of movie memorabili, particularly items from before 1970. Several years ago during last time I moved one of my boxes containing some precious lobby cards form the 1094's were lost. I am required once again to move and have been researching Baltimore movers to find a responsible company that will take of my precious movie memorabilia. Looks like I will be using Hampden Moving & Storage, a Maryland moving company that has been in the business for over 100 years. They offer a Red Carpet Service that provides packing, moving, unpacking, and storing for your most precious belongings with the greatest precision and care. And I do have some precious possessions! The upshot is the move went smoothly. Finding the right service oriented Baltimore movers made things simple! The moving representative who visited with me was great. She not only provided a detailed, written, estimated cost for their services, but also tips for moving, packing, and storage. I am happily ensconced in my new digs and am settling in to watchthe DVD- MST3K: Volume XXXIV, which my girlfriend gave me for my birthday. The dvd features two episodes from the Comedy Central era with Joel Hodgson as host and two from the Sci-Fi Channel run with Mike Nelson. It’s a solid, eclectic mix of episodes spanning seasons three and eight. SANTA CLAUS 50th Anniversary Gifr Set will ne next. Ahh, life is good.

Rene Cardona’s SANTA CLAUS (1959)
No, Santa does not kill this little boy! How could you even think that?
SANTA CLAUS was not given a standard release in the United States. The title was acquired by Florida-based independent film distributor K. Gordon Murray, who had imported many horror and masked wrestling films north of the border, dubbing them into English (at which point the Mexican icon El Santo became “Samson”) and even recutting them to suit the presumed tastes of gringo filmgoers. Murry packaged SANTA CLAUS as a “weekends only” special event movie, booking it into select venues and faithfully rereleasing it every three years well into the 1970s. Rumor has it he made a small fortune from its recepits… but what he received pales in comparison to what he gave us. Which is the wonder that is, warts and all, SANTA CLAUS.
